LTI authentication URL and link with subdomain

Hello,

I am facing an issue to configure a link to an external tool in Mood.e

+Part 1: One-Time Configuration of the API +

To make the interface work, it must be made known to the Moodle System. This needs to be done once for the whole moodle Site.

1) Login on Moodle

2) Go to the settings

3) Configure the API : http://api.schooltas.net/api/public/lti (see picture moodle attached)

4) Go to Plugins > Activity Modules > External Tool > Manage preconfigured tool

5) A request is sent to Schooltas (LTI Requests from Moodle)

This works and we can arrive on the homepage of the external tool.

But then, when we create a link in moodle it doesn't work.

+Part 2: Creating links to e-books using the API +

After the One-time Configuration of the API, the API can be used when referring to books.

When trying to use the proposed URL to refer to an existing book with a correct user, the error message “Tool-Configuration for this URL not found” appears.

Please find a screenshot of the current configuration attached to this message (Part two.PNG). This screenshot also shows the error message.

It seems we have found the problem.

In Moodle we can only have one single link for an external tool. Currently in the process we have two links for Schooltas:

1. the single sign on link: https://backend.schooltas.net/api/public/lti

2. The link to the book, e.g. https://mijn.schooltas.net/book#id

The single sign-on (backend link) works. When we set it, we arrive correctly on Schooltas homepage. The only thing is that we would like to arrive directly in the book. And the URL for linking to the book is different from the "Tool" URL, which links to the backend.

Question:

Can you handle sub-domains, or not? And if not, how should we look at modifying our URL's? The set-up between Moodle and Schooltas works. It's only the deeplink to another sub-domain, which is apparently not supported by Moodle.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Aurélie
