Database connection failed

Hi all, while trying to add thing to my courses https://roudour.moodlecloud.com/ I received this message:

Error: Database connection failed

It is possible that the database is overloaded or otherwise not running properly.

The site administrator should also check that the database details have been correctly specified in config.php

Can someone please check it asap? I need the site up and running.

Thank you.

Hello,

The same happened to me this morning at 10:30 CET for a moodlecloud site on a Starter plan. I have another free site that seems to work fine.

Thanks for fixing this.

So, it seems it is a general thing...

I too have the same 'database connection failed' message for a course I created yesterday on free plan....

sad

Initially I thought I'd done something wrong, knowing that others are experiencing the same thing at least makes me feel a little bit better smile

Hi all,

I have been struggling with the same problem as well.

Just wanted to know if anyone has had any luck on getting it back up?

Just checked mine and it is back up and running...

So far so good, it could be a simple glitch that is being resolved as we speak. It took a few hours for me. Now of course, hoping that it stays up smile

Hope your problem gets resolved soon too!

cheers

Same for my moodlecloud site. Database error at first login this morning 13.3.19.

As I recall the data was 'hosted' in Ireland - EU Server problem?

Hi Seth,

Our systems had an outage yesterday from 3.30pm and it was fixed by 4pm. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you during this time. All our systems are back up and working.

Kind regards,

All seems to be ok again.

Hi Anke,

There was a database issue around the time you posted this message, for some of the sites hosted in Australia. This problem was quickly fixed.

Upgrades started in March are ongoing and we aim to prevent this issue from happening again.
