local/office365 read and write domain permission in Azure

local/office365 read and write domain permission in Azure

Hi, I'm the Moodle admin at a school. We are running Moodle 3.4.6 and using the Office plugins,  on 3.4 version of the local/office365 plugin. Our OneNote assignment submission stopped working as it looks like MS has changed the permissions needed in Azure for the plugin to function with APIs back to Azure. We are working on updating this per the documentation, but my Office 365 admin has expressed concern about the need to enable "read and write domain" permissions for the Moodle app. Would anyone be able to shed any light on why this particular permission is needed?

Nevermind, I see in the set-up instructions:

Required to automatically detect your Office 365 tenant during setup.

It seems in the API there is not a permission to just read a domain, so I guess the read/write level is needed in practice to read.
