Thanks for the response, Emma. LDAP logins worked correctly on the test servers before I tried to migrate production data over, so I know that e.g. the php-ldap package was correctly installed. I'm not sure whether user sync applies to our setup--we create Active Directory accounts separately from Moodle accounts--but I can try it and get back to you on the results.
