Hi All,

We're getting close to the release of Moodle 3.6, with many significant improvements and new features.  Please also see the previous post

Some additional information:

  • LTI: due to a CSRF vulnerability in the LTI launch sequence the LTI 1.3 specification has been re-opened by IMS Global to make some changes. Consensus on the approach is near and we are working towards implementing the proposed changes.  However, at this stage of the release cycle for 3.6 it is now too late to include these modifications, in particular since the LTI 1.3 spec hasn't yet been formally updated, approved and released. I anticipate we will include LTI 1.3 and any final changes in Moodle 3.7.

  • Additional major features for Moodle 3.6 beyond those listed in the earlier posts are integration of NextCloud and support for Open Badges v2, thanks to some excellent contributions from and collaboration with the Moodle community!

Testing is well under way, and thanks to many in the community for helping out in the QA cycle!  We do have a bit more work ahead of us so to ensure we finish our test suite properly we are giving ourselves a little bit more time.

This means that we've decided to move the release date for Moodle 3.6 to December 3rd.
