as a self-signed cert is issued by the server itself, not a CA
AFAIK the CA is the server itself in that case.
BTW I apologize since I didn't read your last post when replying: I've a 1-week backlog of unread posts from moodle.org and made some confusion with your thread (need more attention for the others in the backlog ).
