Chris is right on about this. If we could create questions, and/or allow teachers to create questions, that can only be tagged with the short code of each standard, that would be HUGELY helpful for teachers.

This would make Moodle extremely viable and desirable for teachers.

Secondly, if we could import those tags with the definition, well that would be a home run.

Let me explain just a bit. We have the Common Core Standards. These can easily be broken up into two parts:

  1. the code of the standard (eg. CC.K.CC.A.1)
  2. the definition of the standard ( eg. Know number names and the count sequence. Count to 100 by ones and by tens.)

We have these (there are lots more), already in a spreadsheet. Thus, we can easily create a csv or xml file.

We would like to import that Code as the Tag and the definition as the, well, definition.

Teachers could then create questions and Tag them with the appropriate Code. These could then be used to create random quizzes. It is crucial that the teachers be able to rely on the codes being correct (thus, no teacher could add codes, only select the ones that we enter).

*Currently this works on the Quiz level, but not the question level. That is, we can do exactly what I've reference about with a Quiz, but not individual questions.

Thanks.
