What are the steps necessary or already taken to isolate Moodle from the breaches of Facebook? I know, there are various plug-ins for example, connecting Moodle to Facebook.
Here are some recent reports from slashdot:

Ken Task -
Well, for one ... whatever Moodle site that used it, could join the lawsuits ... seems like everyone is!
Don't think Moodle HQ tracks usage of specific authentication plugins used by registered sites ... just total numbers of activites ... if I re-call correctly.
Yes, it's available to use with these forums for authentication ... maybe server admins have seen things that might be worth sharing ...
Seems like, today, one is always having to consider the 'lesser of evils'. :\
I know for a fact that the ISD's and Corps I work with certainly didn't entertain the idea of using ... for sure.
'spirit of sharing', Ken

Re: Corrections to the Moodle landscape as a result of the Facebook's breaches
Hi Ken
Thanks for the response! As this socio-political-technological issues go, it is pretty difficult to focus to one aspect. Let me reformulate my question to this end.
There are various "integrations" of Moodle to Facebook, whether limited to simple authentication or more. What is exactly the data those components send to Facebook? Now our nightmares being proven one by one, it would be naive to assume that it stopped at: "If you've used the Facebook app on android, Facebook had a record of the date, time, duration, and recipient of calls you made from the past few years" https://tech.slashdot.org/story/18/03/26/2322216/facebook-acknowledges-it-has-been-keeping-records-of-android-users-calls-texts.
It is clear to me that the Moodle adminstrators have access to all the information inside the Moodle site. That is a completely different topic. The users are in direct interaction with the site, and have given consent implicitly or explicitly. In case of doubt, there is an administrative partner to talk to. Facebook is a) a third party which was not in the agreement b) not partner one could talk to. Running hot: "Zuckerberg's snub to MP's astonishing" http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-43554135 !

I don't know how relevant this to Moodle. But the escapades of FaceBook are hair raising:

Possibly Facebook is the black sheep of the big four (see https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-11-29/how-to-tame-google-facebook-amazon-and-apple). Some current head lines for the record:

After the US congress hearing, it became clear that they can not handle Facebook. Compare their hearings hearing of to the Government of Singapore, "Facebook's statements and conduct on the Cambridge Analytica data breaches" https://www.youtube.com/watch?foo=bar&v=A7gJPjLt4Dw. Worth watchng!

Re: Corrections to the Moodle landscape as a result of the Facebook's breaches
Apparently there is a long trail of the role of the "big tech" in world affairs. Watch this (fairly old Oct 2017) video:
US Tech Giants Oddly Unhelpful On Russia | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC
Elizabeth Dwoskin, Silicon Valley correspondent for the Washington Post, talks with Rachel Maddow about the slow pace of discovery of Russian ad buying and other online manipulations as U.S. tech giants like Twitter, Facebook, and Google have seemed reluctant to give up information.

I know, these thing are not directly Moodle-related. But they remind me the euphory we had on moodle.org forums. Going there voluntarily is one thing, sending minors, sometimes young kids, is irresponsible.

Yes, it is the climax: https://yro.slashdot.org/story/18/12/19/049257/facebook-gave-more-than-150-companies-including-microsoft-netflix-spotify-amazon-and-yahoo-unprecedented-access-to-users-personal-data-nyt
That wasn't the only one. The mountain of bad news is simply too much to count. In case your echo chamber was quiet in this channel, just search your favourite news site for 'facebook'. Here's a sample: https://www.bbc.co.uk/search?q=facebook.

I know, I am the only person who posts once a while the negative Facebook makes. This time I wouldn't have done it, if an astronomical amount of money was not mentioned:
