Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new to moodle, but managed to setup my Ubuntu-server, host some courses, create a landing page and include some SCORM-packages.

For my next project I wanted to create a glossary as an FAQ where I also wanted to include some short videoclips for certain matters.

Yet every time I try to include a video in a glossary entry (either by using the video-button or typing out the html myself, the video is strangely alligned to the right, overlapping the edit- and delete buttons.

I've tried several things including of course the "align"-syntax, but I can't manage to get the video to align to the left side where it belongs. The worst thing is as it overlaps the edit/delete-buttons there's no way to experiment but keep starting new entries or deleting the whole glossary...

Including video on other pages/modules worked just fine by the way. Is this some kind of bug?

Hi Patrick,

What theme are you using on your site? If it's a non-standard one, can you try switching to Boost or Clean, and see if it resolves the problem.

I am currently using Lambda. I've tried switching to both, Boost and Clean, unfortunately the issue persists.

Hi Patrick,

I just tried to reproduce the problem on the Moodle sandbox demo site (which anyone is welcome to use to check whether a problem can be reproduced in the latest stable version of Moodle) and found it impossible to left-align the video. I was able to access the edit and delete buttons, but I had to scroll a long way! It's possible that the format you used prevented the buttons from being shown. What display and approval display formats are you using?

I have created an issue in the Moodle Tracker so that developers can investigate the problem and hopefully fix it easily - MDL-61648. Just a quick update: I noticed the same behavior in the Wiki module, an embedded video was not left aligned there as well. Was able to reproduce the error on the Sandbox Demo Site. Any information on when this might be fixed?

Thanks Patrick for the info about the wiki activity and also for checking whether the problem could be reproduced on the Sandbox demo site.

I've updated MDL-61648 accordingly and have added your screenshot. Unfortunately there is no information about when it might be fixed, as developers are currently working hard on GDPR and other features for the upcoming 3.5 release. However, the more details we can provide in MDL-61648, the quicker it will be fixed when a developer does have chance to look at it.
