In a course's settings, the Course Summary and Course Summary Files settings can handle most of what you listed:

Demo videos would likely need to be hosted elsewhere, but could be linked from within the summary or a summary file. Ratings and comments could be summarized from previous sessions of a course and then included in a summary file or in the course summary.
The summary files area is sort of like a bulletin board on the wall outside of a classroom - anything posted there can be examined without entering the class.

There are probably all kinds of ways to do this.
Consider visiting my Moodle for some ideas. When you see the course listing, to the right click on the "i" for information. There you will find my Syllabus and Course Calendar. These are links to web pages on my website. Using this technique (I do this in Course Settings | Description textbox) you could provide any information. Also, while on my Moodle front page, click on the Help drop down in the top bar. One can put anything here, and create more menu items.
All of this information I make available to people who are not in any courses, yet. The little "key" next to each course shows that my courses are all "locked."
