There was another thing I changed. Probably this caused the error. I added an "other field" to users profile called Gender which is a Dropdown list with 3 elements (male, female, unknown). Adding new user manually was impossible. After removing this field from user profile fields, adding new users manually was again possible.
Is this a bug or intended behaviour?
