Did you run replace.php on the database to update all urls from http to https?

No, Emma, I didn't yet

I wanted to post this issue because I think it's nice if there is an option to choose http or https in the theme settings.

I will try it, Thank you Emma  smile

It could cause more issues than your theme.  Depending on how your ssl is set up, if you do not run replace.php, links and files may not be accessible.

Theme settings?  Ok, two things:

  1. The state of 'http' or 'https' is probably established in the sequence of things before the theme is loaded by /index.php.
  2. Why is it a 'theme' setting?  Is it something that is to be styled or a part of the 'theme' functionality = no = its to do with how 'Moodle' as a whole works, therefore it is a 'core' setting.

Are you using the most up to date version of Moodle 2.9 with all its Security fixes?

The version I have is 2.9.9

I strongly suggest that you update Moodle first before you begin to ask for help again.

you will find the Mooddle 2.9 download zip file in the following link...
