Educational Flash developers - Help wanted for eXe

We just released Version 0.11 of the eLearning XHTML Editor (eXe). This is a FLOSS authoring tool which you can use to author SCORM packages for your Moodle courses.

In this release users can include Flash Video files (FLV format) with relative ease, and demonstrates the ability to incorporate more sophisticated interactions.  Our passion is to make authoring easy for non-technical users. Technology should not be a barrier for educators.

Are there any educational Flash developers out there who could help the eXe project with the development of reusable Flash objects? The idea is to use the power of XML in Flash whereby strings and variables are authored in eXe. On exporting a SCORM package the relevant flash object would be embedded in the (X)HTML for play back. Example iDevices could include:

  • a drag & drop, matching activity
  • reusable timeline iDevice.
We plan to offer a small bounty for two selected flash projects, so if you are interested please get in touch with us at exe@exelearning.org. The flash objects will be released as "open" resources for the community and development of the greenpapers, concept requirements will be documented in the project wiki.

Hoping that this would be an interesting holiday project for someone out there  ....

Chat to you soon.
