I saw in one Moodle forum that we can create Restricted user as a system role, then enrol user to that system role. The Restricted user has function to disable edit profile and change password. We use this for our student, because as an admin we need to make sure we have the same code in username so we can process them in several course and know person need to being enrol, ex: stpa_elemntary-1_001, stpa_elemntary-1_002, and so on to course A; stpa_elemntary-2_001, stpa_elemntary-2_002 to course B.
But our student complain the username not friendly enough to them. We use v3.3.x, so we think linked login in Moodle 3.3.x may solve the problem, unfortunately we disable edit profile so student unable to use linked login.
Is there a way to use linked login but student still unable to change username, password, first name, last name, and email. So student can login with their gmail. We think this is one of balance solution for admin and student. Please share your solution or your opinion, thank before.
