Documentation problem

Documentation problem

I am using Moodle 3.3.

On https://docs.moodle.org/33/en/Capabilities/enrol/self:config , it says

·         This capability allows a user to configure (including delete) Self enrolment for a course in Administration > Course administration > Users > Enrolment methods

This is incorrect. The route to get to enrolment methods is quite different to what is described here. It took me probably more than an hour to find the correct route!

Also, on https://docs.moodle.org/33/en/Forum_settings#Forum_subscriptions, it says,

Participants can usually choose whether or not they want to be subscribed to each forum. However, the teacher can choose to force subscription on a particular forum then all course users will be subscribed automatically, even those that enrol at a later time.

The subscription mode and subscribe or unsubscribe links can be found via the gear menu in Boost or via the Forum administration in Clean. Teachers can quickly change the mode via the 'Subscription mode' options and view the current subscribers via the 'Show/edit current subscribers' link. Teachers can manually subscribe or unsubscribe participants by clicking the 'Manage subscriptions' button. (Button renamed and re-positioned in 3.3; previously named 'Turn editing on'.)

The  subscription mode and subscribe or unsubscribe links cannot be found that way.

Other than these occasions, there may well be one or two other occasions where I found the documentation does not tell me the correct things to do. This has been delaying my work on Moodle. Is there a general problem with documentation here? Or am I just hitting the few unfortunately?

Your help will be much appreciated.

Hello and thanks for your comments. As you've probably noticed, Moodle documentation is a wiki and, like Wikipedia, is collaboratively edited by volunteers. We're always happy for people to help keep the documentation updated. Here's a link to Guidelines for contributors

I've made some small updates to the two pages you refer to, but feel free to make more improvements if you think they will help others in the community.
