Hi there, I have exhausted the available course formats and have not found one to suit the needs of the course I am developing. I am looking to keep the weekly format, but be able to break it up into 3 semesters, perhaps showing 1 semester per page, or having the semesters toggle open and closed. Any help how to develop this, or is something already available?
No format I'm aware of but lots that do some functionality like toggles.
How many weeks per semester?
Development time depends on what you exactly want, certainly 2-3 days to many weeks.
the semesters aren't evenly spread by number of weeks. semester 1 is jan-april, sem 2 is may-july, and sem 3 is aug-oct. if it can't be done on my own, fairly easily, i will figure out something else.
Maybe the best that you can do is to make each topic heading become more identifiable. For example:
Semester 1 - Jan xxx
Semester 1 - Jan xxx
...
Semester 2 - May xxx
Semester 2 - May xxx
Etc. ...
And then you can hide the topics that are not appropriate.
(I use Collapsed Topics plugin, so this is how I think.)
I would just use a separate course for each semester...
