Hi Mary,

as admin I turn ON  a gravatar picture for users without profil picture.

I deleted my profil picture  and connect again (debug ON)

Debug info:
Error code: filenotfound
Stack trace:
  • line 495 of /lib/setuplib.php: moodle_exception thrown
  • line 1803 of /lib/filelib.php: call to print_error()
  • line 81 of /draftfile.php: call to send_file_not_found()

Hi Jean-Marc,

I know these may sound silly questions to ask but here goes anyway...

  1. is the email that you use on your site registered with Gravatar?
  2. do you have a gravatar profile connected to that email address?
  3. did you save the Admin setting after enabling the Gravatar option for your site?
  4. after deleting your site profile picture did you save that setting?
  5. have you Purged all cache since doing 3 & 4?

If YES to all of the above I think it's more a timing thing as you need to allow the Moodle data to catch up. Also I don't think it is an Adaptable problem either, unless you do not get the same using Clean theme?

Cheers

Mary

I don't see any relationship between Gravatars and themes. Anyway I just test it and works as expected.

Please, follow the steps indicated by Mary and test also with Clean.

But in my opinion is a wrong moodle installation.

I think this topic could be moved to the General forum because not related to Adaptable or any other theme issue.

Jean-Marc,

The settings I am talking about in that discussion are Moodle Admin settings and nothing to do with your server. Anyway you did not answer me in that discussion.

Is that problem still happening?

Mary

Hi,

I am just wondering is you changed this setting from the one that is set by default?

gravatardefaulturl
Default: mm

Gravatar needs a default image to display if it is unable to find a picture for a given user. Provide a full URL for an image. If you leave this setting empty, Moodle will attempt to use the most appropriate default image for the page you are viewing. Note also that Gravatar has a number of codes which can be used to generate default images.

I leave this setting as mm and works OK on my test servers.

Just a thought

Mary
