Thanks for the suggestions, and it is fixed. When I added en_us as a language, it then asked me the preferred language in the dropdown and the page went away. It appears not to view the default load language as a valid language (en was not on the list) and so it was "stuck" wanting me to select a language...but none had yet been installed. Hope that helps troubleshoot the code!
