Hi all,

due to Pentecost I’m a litte bit late … sorry.

Thanks for your answers. I’m based in Germany.

Our server server is in New Zealand.

The server time is set (nearly) to New Zealand time via shell

command. In the php.ini. I said Pacific/Auckland as timezone.

Now in case of

 - server time

 - time specification in the logs (e.g. user activities)

-  time specification for message ( this time specification refers to

1.) system to user messages :  e.g.  „successful course backups“ as notice for the admin

     2.) user to user messages)

I have 3 different time specification.

In my profile I set Pacific/Auckland.

Systemwide as admin I set in Moodle

timezone:  Pacific/Auckland.

forcedtimezone:  „Users can choose their own timezone“

no changes.

How can make Moodle to use in all cases Auckland time ?

Not possible ? Is it possible to debug the transforming of UNIX timestamps

out of the the databases to user preferences like James outlined.

Kiwi Greets from Germany,

Sonja

this all very annoying. We have Moodle Servers in Germany and somewhere in the Far East (not New Zealand). On all servers we leave it up to the user to set to his own time zone, i.e. we have on

moodledomain.com/admin/settings.php?section=locationsettings

Force timezone : "Users can choose their own timezone".

In Berlin/Germany people set Berlin and it works. In Asia people have to set to New York time in order to get their correct local time ...

... like how ?

There must be a simple mistake ... but what is it ?

Regards,

Sonja
