Why subscribe to a forum, when you can subscribe to a thread.
Not that I'm complaining about my inbox, but, yes ... it would be better. Of course we're using Moodle to act as a sort of newsgroup/BBS. Maybe not a good idea. Why not create a thread system for these discussion groups smile big grin like you don't have enough to do?

I've been thinking about it, but there are three reasons for keeping the current system:

a) keeping track of all those subscriptions can be a hassle (for everyone)
b) the current system promotes collaboration because people are made aware of the bigger picture and discussions that they would never see otherwise
c) filters in mail programs are pretty powerful these days

You can unsubscribe anytime from a forum if the mail is a bit much (the link is in the mail).
