Hi Everyone

I am doing a bit of research and comparison into how people have spec'd and scaled thier environments which host Moodle.  If you are happy to, could you copy and paste, then reply with the following points?

  • Server OS (Windows Server 2012/2008 / Linux 12.10):
  • PHP Version:
  • Web Server (Apache/IIS/Other):
  • Moodle version:
  • Moodle data directory size:
  • Any additonal modules/blocks etc:
  • No. of users:
  • No. of courses:
  • Average logins per day:

Many Thanks and I look forward to hearing how we compare smile

Hi

I'm interested to know what you get back as we are in the process of reconsidering our Server spec / server arrangement. It would be particularly useful to know if anyone has got a solution they would describe as the 'best thing since sliced bread'.

  • Server OS (Windows Server 2012/2008 / Linux 12.10): - Two web servers on Ubuntu, One database server on Windows  Server 2012, one data folder on a network storage solution (Windows)
  • PHP Version:  5.5
  • Web Server (Apache/IIS/Other):   Apache
  • Moodle version:    2.7.11
  • Moodle data directory size: about 75 gig possibly more
  • Any additional modules/blocks etc:   - several themes, Quickmail, progress bar, hotpotatoes, Turnitin, configurable reports, questionnaire, grid format for courses
  • No. of users: 4679 approx
  • No. of courses: 393
  • Average logins per day: difficult - Monday to Friday in term time probably about 800 varies on the time of year and exam season and induction, really spikes on induction week.

Regards

Heather
