We currently have a external enrollment plugin setup that brings in students and teachers from SITS ( oracle) to Moodle on a daily basic. We also have a few plugins that talk to SITS in sending Quiz grades and fetching other stuff from SITS. We are trying to take a plunge here in going more for e-assessment route and was wondering if anybody has any experience in implementing a full circle Moodle grades passed to SITS and possibly assignment created in SITS and then brought into Moodle.

A brief overview of what we would like to achieve :

1. Students upload their work in Moodle through Moodle assignments

2. Staff mark assignments and provide marks and feedback online (Moodle tools) and once they’ve finished, they click a button to synchronise the marks back to SITS and update student records (summative assessments only), enabling them to give marks and feedback quickly and easily. [From a developer's perspective I dont mind it either being through Moodle2 events : mod_assign\event\submission_graded  etc] or via a nightly cron sync that does it all at once in bulk ! ]

 3. Students then collect their marks and feedback in Moodle, where they would expect to find it, with marks synchronised back across systems when they are released.

I am a developer at Bath and I do have a good amount of experience in working with SITS records via Moodle ( we currently have 6 plugins talking to SITS from Moodle)  but was wondering if anyone has any experiences to share about any challenges faced or particular workflows that they think would help us achieving this.

Many thanks in advance .
