Hi,

Moodle 3.0

I get this error installing Essential

"Detectado un error de codificación, debe ser corregido por un programador: page layout file [dirroot]/theme/clean/layout/ does not contain the main content placeholder, please include "<?php echo $OUTPUT->main_content() ?>" in theme layout file".

After that, our Moodle site ist not accesible. Only error.

Thanks for help

Ok....

  • What version of Essential?
  • Where did you get it from?
  • What installation instructions did you follow?
  • Where are the files now located?
  • Was the site working before or did you install both at the same time?
  • Have you modified any of the files in any way?  Either by intent or mistake?

From Essential web site, following instructions. Error on 4 step.

/xampp/apps/moodle/htdocs/theme/essential/

The site was working before.

No, not modified.

Thanks

Ok, which website?  As there are many.

Please do a 'ls -laR' or 'tree' for the folder '/xampp/apps/moodle/htdocs/theme/essential/' and post here.

How did you extract the files?

What files are in the folder '/xampp/apps/moodle/htdocs/theme/clean/layout'?  If any, what do they contain?

Just to rule out a possibility:

How did you do #3 - I have seen similar issues previously when a github zip file has been used without renaming (ie theme_xxxxx_master_20151101.zip) and that has then caused problems with Clean and Bootstrapbase themes.

You need to make sure your zip file is extracted properly into a folder called 'essential' or extracted away from moodle, renamed and then copied across to the moodle/theme folder.

That may not be your particular issue, but if you can confirm how you extracted the file, that may rule that out as a possibility smile

Run out of time today.  Ages since tested from that download location.  Moodle.org plugins DB works.  Might have time tomorrow.

Downloaded from that location and installed on Win 7 running Moodle 3.0.2+ (Build: 20160225) with bespoke WAMP of Apache 2.4.18 PHP 5.6.17 with non-thread-safe FastCGI.  Cannot replicate issue.

Look in PHP / Apache logs for any errors and report here.

I think something was erased or disrupted when Essential was installed.

Finally I had to reinstall Moodle. Fortunately all went fine.

At first restart of Moodle, Essential  was recognized.

Thank you so much.
