Has anyone experienced problems opening Word attachments submitted by students?  Our building has computers with Windows 98, 256mb RAM, and Office XP.  When an instructor clicks on the link to open the attachment, from the feedback page,  the computer freezes.  It tells me I do not have enough memory to complete the operation.  However, if I navigate through the course  File/Moddata directory down to the file it self, then click on the link, it will open fine.  Only when I try to open it from the assignment feedback page does the computer freeze.  I have frustrated instructors that can't open the documents to give students feedback.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Dear Shannon, I have different but related problem with yours. I cannot view the student assignment and I get error message, HTTP 404 not found.

Would you please let me know what is the exact physical path to the "moddata" folder. I cannot find it under my "courses" folder.

Here is an example path from my server:

/moodledata/62/moddata/assignment/36/42/
