Essential Bug! -- Module page not visible when it includes Empty Folders

I download the code of official Moodle mobile 2.7 from github (https://github.com/moodlehq/moodlemobile-phonegapbuild) and convert it through Phonegap Build without any changes. Then I open the mobile app with the Moodle site URL of my institution. I find that if a module page includes an empty folder, the module content are not visible on mobile app, as can be seen below. Neither the list of sections on the left nor the section content on the right is shown. If I delete the empty folder, the content is shown again.

My institution uses Moodle 2.8. We also install Moodle mobile additional feature plugin for the Moodle mobile app.

I convert Moodle mobile app 2.0, 2.2 and 2.5 before. All of these versions do not have problems when visiting module pages with empty folders when visiting my institution Moodle site.

I also add an empty folder in a module page in Moodle  official demo site (http://school.demo.moodle.net/), the module page can be shown in the mobile app. I do not know whether it is because the demo site is under Moodle 3 and does not use Moodle mobile additional plugin.

It is a essential bug since many teachers leave empty folders in the module pages. And it is a big problem for students when their module page is not visible on the mobile app. I plan to upgrade the mobile app for my institution soon, since the Moodle site URL pre-populating function is quite important for us. I really hope the bug can be fixed as soon as possible.

You should create an account on the Moodle Tracker site (link in the main menu across the top), and file a bug using that site. The project is Moodle Mobile (MOBILE).

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your advice. Since Daniel has created a bug report this time, I will do it next time when I find a bug.

Hi Yezi,

is this a new error (regression) or is something that was happening before?

This bug caused by empty folder is a new bug. I reported a bug about folders before for Moodle mobile 2.0 (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=319254). But it is about a error message appears when users open a folder, not just for empty folders.

Thank you for creating a report in Moodle Tracker. We checked all the Moodle module pages in English Language Centre in my institution. Half of the module show nothing in the main module content pages on mobile app because they include empty folders. It means half of the students in that centre will see nothing in their module pages on mobile app. It will become a big problem for any other institutions if they use the current version of Moodle mobile 2.7. However, in the bug report in Moodle Tracker, it is in minor priority. I think the bug is quite urgent and In wondered whether it can be put in a higher priority.

Dear Juan and Danie,

I see that you have solved the bug about empty folder in Moodle app in the bug report in Moodle Tracker. I plan to upgrade the mobile app for my institution to Moodle mobile 2.7 in this week, since pre-populating Moodle site in config file is really a important function and it also solves some old bugs. So I really need the code that you update to fix the bug as soon as possible. Could I know when would you update the code on moodlehq/moodlemobile-phonegapbuild, please?

If you do not plan to release the updated code in this week, could I know the code you change to fix the bug, please? I really need to make the Moodle mobile as soon as possible.

Thank you very much for your support!
