I was inspired by a recent post by Tim Hunt the Moodle Quiz maintainer

https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=323583#p1299642

Where he said

"Hmm. Someone really needs to make a version of that which works with the latest Moodle."

I thought I could be that someone, and so I have updated the code to work with Moodle 2.7 and greater.

You can read about it here

https://github.com/marcusgreen/moodle-mod_qpractice/wiki

And the code is here

https://github.com/marcusgreen/moodle-mod_qpractice

You can play with an installed version and some questions at

Well Kudos to you Marcus and thankyou smile I just had a play, never having tried this before. (One thing I wasn't sure of, never having tried it, is that it says "type of practice" and you only get one option - normal practice - is the only one type to select from?)

And I particularly enjoyed practising with the very good gapfill question types smile

Glad you like it  (guess what Marcus was doing on his laptop over the holiday while others were watching Strictly, Call the Midwife and Downton).

The limitation to Normal was in the code I was converting. I thought I'd get a straight conversion done first and then explore other options if people like it.

Awesome! thanks Marcus.

I have asked David Mudrak to give you contributor access to https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_qpractice, so you can upload your version there.

And that was just done. Marcus, you should now have permissions to release a new version of the plugin.

Thank you David, I will do some final tweaks (e.g. some conversions from literals to get_strings) and upload to the plugins database.

To answer Joshuas question, it is my plan to keep updating for new releases of Moodle. I believe QPractice is important as it shows how the quiz engine and question types can be used outside the context of the quiz module. Kudos to Tim for his excellent design.

Thank you all for your kind feedback. This might be a good topic for me to a Pecha Kucha presentation  on the update and features at MootUKIE16.

Yes please; I enjoy your Pecha Kuchas.  Once you've uploaded it I'll update the screenshots and docs if you like.

Is Jayesh still actually maintaining the plugin? His last access to moodle.org was more than a year ago. It would make sense to me to make Marcus the lead maintainer of the plugin if everybody agrees.

Marcus, you're a hero.  I've loved qpractice but put off actually installing it on our production site because I wanted to make sure it got maintained.  When it never got updated, I was disappointed.  Are you going to try to keep it up to date in general or is this a one off event?
