Software accesses o SQL as more than one user.

With relatively light use by a few students doing practice quizzes of random questions, I encountered:
" 1226: User 'todayins_moodle' has exceeded the 'max_questions' resource (current value: 50000)" which then closed all access. I eventually identified it as a service provider limit (and they won't change it). One prior suggestion was get another provider. Another is, according to the provider, use software that recognizes the limit error message, and access the SQL database as another user.

Before I $$$ to another provider, has there been any recognition of this limit problem, and any hope on the horizon of accommodating it in the Moodle software?

Hmm, adding another user to the db to get around an artificially low limit seems a bit odd idea & a violation of least privilege, but did you try it?

I found more discussion of this here:
http://drupal.org/node/32660

Seems the general consensus is get a service provider who is going to provide a usuable MySQL rather than just list is as a feature they don't expect anyone to really use.

Hi Ian

Sounds like moving would be a good idea. Have a look at Site5, that's who I'm hosted by (and I assure you I have no connection with them other than that) and I am very impressed by them.

They have a special on at the moment. Used to offer $50 for switching but not sure about that at the moment and will transfer your site for you if possible.

Regards
H
