Skip courses not modified - what does it refer to with automated course backups?

Regarding automated backups and the settings 'Skip courses not modified for a specific number of days' and 'Skip courses not modified since the last backup'

Does 'not modified' relate to instructor updates to the course and/or student activity within the course ?

If the course was not updated by an instructor but students are still viewing the course would that be a 'modified course'?

Or does it only backup the course if the instructor modified it regardless of student activity?

Thanks

Hi,

Good question smile

I'm not a Moodle developper, but reading function is_course_modified (in /moodle/backup/util/helper/backup_cron_helper.class.php), it seems it's only things that generates something different than "read" in logs.

So, if i understand well, teacher modifying action, and students action, if they submit a file for exemple (but not if they just read a document).

Would be good if someone more aware of that could confirm...
