How to aesthetically improve my Moodle site

Hi, I want to improve the visual appearance of my moodle site. Foremost (using grid format) I would like to add a picture above the boxes at the start of the course page, as a kind of welcome page. I imagine this needs some programming since I can't find any settings for doing this. Could someone help me how this could be done?

Another thing I would like to do is to have an intro video of the course the first time one enters, meaning first watching the video, then entering the course page. Such functionality I can't find neither.

Cheers,
Kalle

Perhaps this post should be in the 'Courses and course formats' forum.

Anyway, with the Grid format, section 0 is shown above the grid of images, so just use that with a 'label' and you'll be able to add links to images / video in that or with the video make it an embedded file.  Perhaps there is a means with course completion such that you can hide the video after its been viewed.
