I've tried searching the forums for this but to no avail. What I'm after is a Study Group Contacts block (something similar to the old Course Contacts block (https://moodle.org/plugins/pluginversions.php?plugin=block_course_contacts)
So its primary function will be to show the logged in student all other students who are in the same subjects (aka. the course contacts block) but filtered down to an even lower level, to say show students studying same course, in same city, in age group 20-35 for example.
That way the student can just click on the name of the other student in the block on the page and request they be added as a contact.
We want to avoid students having to search for a contact and want to encourage working together with similar students.
Is there anything out there that would provide this kind of functionality or am i going to have to look into tweaking the course contacts block?
