Hello
We have a Moodle 2.7 on Ubuntu and a MySQL server on Windows.
The overnight dump file of the database seems to be doubling in size the last two nights and now it is more than 4 gig in size. We expected an increase when the students came back in, but now I'm worried it might continue at this rate. It is a brand new database for this academic year.
If I cull the logs after three months can I still pull meaningful statistics from it for a full academic year?
I realise I won't be able to access the actual logs to see who was logged on when, and I'm not entirely sure how much I would need to be able to do that.
Is there anything else that the log files impact on that I may have failed to notice and would probably only notice when some sort of disaster befell?
Thank you
Heather
