Restrict Access with 2+ completion generates error for teacher

Using Moodle 2.7.8, 20150511

The teacher put a restrict access in each topic section summary, requiring two completion activities before being able to view anything else in the section.

Then when she attempted to open the glossary in that section, she received this error message:

"Coding error detected, it must be fixed by a programmer: The theme has already been set up for this page ready for output. Therefore, you can no longer change the theme, or anything that might affect what the current theme is, for example, the course."

Students have no problem viewing the glossary because they have completed the activities.  I found that if I went into student view and completed the restrict access activities, I was then able to open the glossary while in normal (teacher) view without errors.

I found a Moodle Tracker about this issue, https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-49418 but it is marked as fixed for 2.7.7.  Would that mean it should now be part of the core code for 2.7.8?  

If it should be there, how do I reopen the tracker?

Version 20150511 isn't 2.7.8. That's 2014051208.

2015051100 is the initial release of 2.9. So, something is strange with your Moodle versions. I would check you have the latest version of whatever branch you are really on smile

Thanks for replying, Howard.  I do hope it's not a mixup on versions on our server!  No, just looked again and the version is listed as 2014051208.

On the next line it said Moodle release 2.7.8 (Build: 20150511).  My mistake.


Wouldn't fixes to 2.7.7 be included in 2.7.8?

Yes - so maybe the fix wasn't complete or it's something else. Your problem does sound exactly like that report though.

I wound up posting a new Moodle tracker.  Within 24 hours, Sam who was working on a related problem tested and created a fix for it along with some other tracker items he was working on.

I do love Moodle community.
