Strange Feedback by "Int" in STACK

Strange Feedback by "Int" in STACK

Hello,

I am testing the ready-made integration questions in STACK and realized that the automatic feedback provided by STACK does some strange factorization.

Please see for example the attached screenshot (question CR-Int-17-misc-07).

Is this a bug or is there some way to solve this?

Cheers,

Mikko

Mikko,

The answer test only has the *teacher's answer*.  To provide this feedback, the system has to infer what the teacher has set in the question.  This includes stripping off constants of integration.  Constants of integration may occur in a number of ways, e.g.

\[ \int \frac{1}{x}\mathrm{d}x = \ln(kx).\]

I agree the feedback looks very odd.  I think this code needs to be re-factored, but I'm not sure how.  I've added an issue so I don't loose this suggestion. https://github.com/maths/moodle-qtype_stack/issues/126

When this happens, use the "Quiet" option and provide bespoke feedback for this question.  I'm sorry this happens in a demo question....
