I have been trying to move My Moodle materials to a new server and get the following error message: Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what is the fix.
Error: Database connection failed
It is possible that the database is overloaded or otherwise not running properly.
The site administrator should also check that the database details have been correctly specified in config.php
Dennis, there could be only 2 possibilities (assuming database server is running fine)
1: wrong password
2: wrong path in config.php file
Do make checks at your end regarding password (the one you mentioned in actual database is as well the one mentioned in config.php file)
and have you actually given the right path to the database in config.php file?

Have you verified database settings in the config.php file. Error clearly indicates that moodle is not able to connect to the database using database setting in config.php.
