From the team that brought you the BETT Awards thread...

I received an e-mail last night about the UK Linux & Open Source Awards, and after our experience entering Moodle for this year's BETT awards, thought, well, why not...
Drew & Darren, who put loads of work into the BETT award bid are up for it, but as we'd be entering on behalf of the moodle.org community, we wanted to float the idea here, in case the consensus (and/or Martin), thought that this was a Bad Idea, in which case, fair enough, or in case anyone else wanted to help.

Pertinent dates are that the product or a significant upgrade should have been released between 1/4/2004 and 30/6/2005, which means versions 1.4 and 1.5 for us, I believe,  and the closing date is 2/9/05, which is more notice than Drew gave us last time! wink I think Moodle fits closest in the 'Server Application' category.

Sorry folks, we didn't make it - lost to a thing called Paythyme. sad
I'm hopeful that just getting on to the shortlist will have helped to raise Moodle's profile in the technical press.
Worth keeping an eye out for other awards that we could put Moodle up for though.
