Hello. I have a pentium 2 on my computer, just so you know. When I use this site (the one we're all on now), the moodle pages come up and I can use the site at the same speed that I use other sites. And, my university used to have a site for moodle which they administered themselves, and it was the same speed as here. Now, they recently had us a take a moodle course administered by some company and it was very very slow. it couldn't keep up with my typing, and it took maybe a minute or more for the screens in the pop up power point to change, and likewise it took a long time to switch betweeen pages. The university has now given administration of the site over to another firm for technical help, etc., and this site, is also very slow. For example, it took me an hour (timed it) to post 10 T/F questions (remember that TF quizzes post their questions one by one so approximately three pages have to be changed for each question). Several times while using this site, my computer "hanged" (is that what you call it when it just stalls and tell you MS explorer is not responding and nothing else will move for a while either?) and one time it just went black and I had to restart.
I contacted the site adminsitrator for said technical help and he says that everything is ok on his end, it must be the client.
1. Is the client me or the University and if its me, can I do anything about this? I'm spending a lot of my own precious time, phone time, and ISP time.
2. Is it possible for me to downloard (or would this be upload?) the class onto my computer, go offline, post my classes, quizzes, projects, etc, and then send it back to the site?
Thanks, for helping this newbie with a slowbie computer.
