Finally what I was looking for... A moodle site donning the RomanMoodle15 theme!! When we made it we never thought this theme would go down well. eMails later confirmed we had a hit! Adds a bit of ancient grandeur to moodle..and highly appropriate for the user perhaps..the Catalan Dept. of Education I think....have a look...You could find some interstesting theme uses on the MoodleThemes Users page. 
Yes, RomanMoodle was a very close second for me. In the end "clouds" won out for my overall site but I'll probably use "roman" as a course template for a course I'm designing. "Greek" actually. The metaphor will be a learning odyssey - an epic learning journey.
It would be fun to see more metaphor-based templates. I find metaphors really spark creativity and integrative learning experiences.
