Does anyone know how to format the display date on the logs. At the moment, its not displaying the year in the log as per screen:

Jen's right - that tracker item covers the issue. But, the fix is easier than in the tracker item.
The report generator passes in a language string from lang/en/langconfig.php specifically the string 'strftimerecent' - which is missing the year in the format. It's set to '%d %b, %H:%M' by default, but should be '%d %b %Y, %H:%M'.
I've made this change on a local Moodle, and this resolves the issue.
I'll comment on the tracker issue that the fix is simple.
