Choice Display

Choice Display

Is it possible to get Choice to display similar to the survey tool in A-Tutor?  What I'm looking for is a standard horizontal bar that is relatively small (small enough to fit into a block) instead of the large vertical bars.

Thanks,
Tony

wait a couple more weeks - I have a new Choice Block nearly ready! - I've been on holiday so haven't had a chance to finish it yet! - as part of this Choice block I have slightly altered the way the code displays the choice - hopefully the above will be possible by using a different style - or adding an extra option to display mode(Horizontal, Vertical, smallHorizontal.)

Hi Dan,

May I know if you're still working on the display mode or it is available in any CVS version already?  Thanks.

Hi Dan,

I second Edith's request.  The display of the polls would be better for us if we could dee the results horizontally...and if we could define the look and feel of the results.

Thanks for your hard work.

Hi Guys,

the display mode is already in 1.5.3 - it allows 2 modes currently, horizontal display and vertical.

thanks,

Dan,
You mention a "Choice Block".  I've used choice as an activity within a course but would love a block version that I can stick on my front page for site wide surveys.  Anything like that in the works?
If not, I guess I'll play around and build one myself.
thanks

Hi Don,

yup it's been in the works for a while! - I have a demo one running on the moodleblog site - http://learn2.lincoln.ac.nz/moodleblog - I haven't done much work on it in a while, but I'm hoping to have it ready for 1.6

thanks,

Hi Dan,

It is cool. I like it.

In fact, I wanna know do we have the little bar chart display option when we view the result chart in Response.

Currently, we have a large chart and I do prefer a small one instead.

Best,

Leo

I could add it as an option, but in the current code it isn't one - I'll see how things go.....

still waiting for my project load to focus more on moodle! - we're in registration week and releasing on-line enrolment. - hopefully in the next month or so I should be able to work on it.

thanks,

Hi Garry,

I hope to have it ready for 1.6 release - it's not quite ready for general use - few things I want to tidy up first!

thanks,

Hi Dan,

Your choice block is exactly what we (Gateshead College are looking for).

Will you be releasing it in time for 1.6 or maybe as a mod anytime soon?

Hi Paul,

I've run up against a couple of complications - it won't be ready for 1.6 release, but I'm hoping to make it available as a custom block soon!

thanks!

Dan,
I have version 1.6 in Spanish and I am not been able of installing the block. In addition to having followed all your directions, I've also left a copy of the "block_choice_block.php" into the "es_es" folder, but it doesn't work: the block is not recognized anywhere.
Could it been something related to the language or UTF ...?
Thanks,
Fernando

Error of Moodle Choice module and the Block needs update too!

by aggelos panagiotakis -
i have a problem.
I want to use the "Limit option" of the moodle choice
the problem was recently fixed and i want to incorporate the changes in the block
which changes the core moodle choice module.
the developer who fixed it stated in the latest changelog of 1.6.3:
2006-10-16 Monday 07:56 danmarsden

 * mod/choice/lib.php:

Fix for MDL-6550 - patch from Graeme Byrne thanks! :-) + a bit of
a tidy - get rid of all those tabs! :-)
see MDL-6550
what do i do ?
if the choice is changed to the moodle one the block doesn't work.
any ideas?

Hi Mel,

I've got a pretty big tasklist at the moment unfortunately! - can't guarantee anything on timeframes, but I'll make sure it stays on the list of things todo!

thanks,
