2.8: 'Resetting' students to test systems

I'm very new to Moodle 2 and really want to get a grip on all the groovy stuff with restricting access, badges and the like. However, this means trying stuff out over and over to see if I have it right. Once a test student account has been created and run though some of a course activating various bits of the tracking system, getting badges etc. there seems no way of putting that student back to a 'new' state so that changes/alternative paths can be tested.

At the moment I have to keep creating new students with new names and new e-mail addresses which is very time consuming and builds up a lot of 'used' students. Is there a simple and quick way of making the system start a student again from scratch?

You might find https://github.com/tmuras/moosh helpful for this; it's a command-line tool to perform lots of functions like creating and deleting courses, students, roles, etc.

Also -feel free to test on our School demo site (which has ready made activities and students but you can also add your own) It resets every hour so if you start at one minute past you have until one minut to to try stuff out.  Mount Orange School demo -or our totally empty Sandbox demo

Thanks for that Dave - unfortunately I don't have that level of access to the system ATM; will keep it in mind though if I can get it.

In case anyone else is looking for this sort of info; I've discovered that you can Reset Course from the Administration block. Clearly you would not want to use this in a live course, but it's just what I want fro testing.
