Parent directory is not writeable during installation

Parent directory is not writeable during installation

I tried installing MOODLE 2.7.2 on an external server but I seemed to get non-writeable restrictions during the process.  I talked to the administrators or the server and they told me I needed to get some MOODLE experts recommendations.  I down graded to version 2.6.2 and tried again to install it, however I got the following message:

"Parent directory (/clientdata/apache-www/i/d/idiomasxinter.net) is not writeable. Data directory (/clientdata/apache-www/i/d/idiomasxinter.net/moodledata) cannot be created by the installer."

To me, it seems that it's their server the one that's placing the restrictions and that they don't want to modify their server's configuration.  Am I right, or am I just blowing off steam for not knowing how to solve this?  Could some expert out there help out?  I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Above error points that there is no /moodledata/ directory on your server. Could you create a moodledata directory on that server. More info on that here- https://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Moodledata_directory
