Sounds like a nice idea to me - for anyone else interested MDL-43996 is the bug about getting this plugin into core. Unfortunately it seems to have got a bit stuck.

Dan, I saw this. Image resizing was specifically excluded from the scope of this request, I've asked Anthony to see if this can be reconsidered.
Or else to do this in two parts. Install DnD and then do the resize thing.
I'd much rather image resizing on upload, but that's probably a personal view.

Sorry Dan, I think this was my misunderstanding.
I interpreted the post in the tracker item to mean Martin was not happy with Drag and Drop plugin to be installed (either in Core or Moodle.org) unless it had image resize as well.
So to clarify:
- YES, I am suggesting Drag and Drop be installed on Moodle.org without Resizing
- If there is not a separate tracker item for image resizing, I will create one. But in my mind this is a separate issue.
