If you are not logged in moodle.org, in the column "Last post" in any forum, say https://moodle.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=28, the link points to the _first post_ of that thread! Which you can easily verify by mouse over in the colum "Discussion" and "Last post".
Another difference is that the column "Last post" doesn't show the author, if you are only a visitor.
Isn't that confusing?
In forums in "Moodle in English" last post is the first post for visitors!
