Are custom menu items expected to work with iPads?

Just asking the question here because I must be the only person in the world without an iPad and an ex-colleague was complaining she couldn't access any of the links in the custom menu of the school's Moodle site as they just didn't open. (She did a demonstration for me to see) We went into a course and tried with the Clean theme and they still wouldn't open.  I can ask her what the OS is and other iPad relevant stuff, but I would have expected the links to work, so I am thinking perhaps there is something up with her iPad set up?

Hi Mary,

Yes they should!  I'm an impoverished developer, so not the only person in the world without an iPad.  But do have an iPod Touch 8GB (got from HMV before they went bust - oh the irony).  So will look when I can.  Or you could have a bash with Chrome mobile developer tools - https://developer.chrome.com/devtools/docs/device-mode - and see what's what.

Cheers,

Gareth

Thanks Gareth - this (ex) colleague (and also ex pupil - how old am I!) first tried with Safari and then with Chrome - neither worked. I tried too; I'll see what else I can find out for her.

Jérôme. -yes I did know that; I saw you posted in the French forums and I tried to look for a tracker report about it because I'm sure there was one (but I didn't reply yet in the French forums)) MDL-46211

No because they do not respond to touch for some reason. It's a known bug.

Yes I believe so I've known about it for quite a while...I thought it was common knowledge. It affects all types of dropdown menus.

The button link on my website has a dropdown menu that works ok on PC but not in iPad or iPod
