Moodle assignments email notifications dont work

Hi All,

After our upgrade , our Moodle assingments dont send out email notifications to academics / teachers when a student submits or a teacher grades submissions. I'd like to blame our SMTP server but forum notifications appear to working fine via email. Any pointers on this ? 

I have checked that the assginments in question have set Notify graders about submissions to Yes

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Using Moodle 2.6(2013111803.01)

We're experiencing the same challenge after upgrading from 2.4 to 2.7 last week. Does anyone know the solution?

I'd say be very, very careful about assignment submission settings, specifically the "Submit button". Also, so-called "Submission comments" do not generate notifications, apparently, while a teacher cannot turn them off.
