I am using Moodle 2.6. The students can see the forum and add a discussion. However, when you go to see what they post, it is not there. They cannot reply to any of the posts either. I am using the Standard forum. Any thoughts?

Hi Sandy,
I think you need to check the permissions in the forum.
Visit the forum and then in the Administration block, click Permissions. Select the role for which you want to check permissions.
Then type the word "reply" in the Filter field. See the results that come up. Check whether the permission is set to "allow". If it's not, students cannot reply to posts.
You can carry out other searchers or browse all the permissions (and do the same for other roles).

Thank you for your response. I have checked the permissions and everything seems right. I believe the issue is dealing with the online text in Moodle. It happens when students type directly into Moodle in a forum or in an online text assignment. I am thinking it has something to do with the HTML code but I cannot figure it out.
