A fix for SSL Moodle sites:
Fixed CONTRIB-5191. This is a workaround that depends on MDL-43525 being implemented before it is reversed.

We are moving to 2.7 and I really like the grid format for better accessibility but when viewing the pop-ups from the Grid Format they are not the top most layer. The navigation bar can hide the close icon for users who don't have good screen resolution settings.
We are using the Moodle 2.7, More theme and the Grid plugin of 9August14..
I appreciate your advice.

That looks like a z-index conflict with the More theme. I'll have to investigate.
There is also now an issue with the Essential theme along the same lines. Oh the irony.
Might be tricky to fix as z-index of the Grid overlay is deliberately set at 1 so that the contained content shows if it has a z-index. But the navbar z-index is 4030.

If you have a M2.7 test server, please could you test the shadbox overlay issue using https://github.com/gjb2048/moodle-format_grid/tree/MOODLE_27_DSBP to see if that fixes the problem for you. Please perform a 'purge all caches' before trying.
