Courses and course formats

Hi,

I am trying to make sure that we are setting our new system up correctly and part of this is making sure that the course structure is correct. 

If I can describe what it is I exactly want to do and if someone could explain if it is possible and if so maybe where I can get information on setting it up.. I have spent an hour or so looking for info on this.

OK:  I want to do the following.  Setup different types of course, based upon the different subject areas:  EG:  We have Islamic Studies and ICT piloting the software.  Underneath each subject there is different courses:  EG:  GNVQ, Applied ICT, ECDL.  Then underneath each course there is a sub category, which is basically the different Units for each course.  This is the part that actually has the topic information that we are currently seeing each time.

Is this possible?  I thing it is so important to get this right.
