button format

We're using Moodle 2.6. I'm curious as to why there are four options (HTML format, Moodle auto-format, plain text format, and Markdown format) for formatting the Content (buttons) in the Lesson tool, when one's choice doesn't seem to make any difference in the buttons' appearance. Could someone explain this to me?

Is there any way to change the appearance of the text or background in the buttons?

Thanks.

Hi Kimerly,

a) This choice of 4 options has been like that for many versions and it's still a mystery to me.

b) "Is there any way to change the appearance of the text or background in the buttons?"

No. What exactly would you like to change?

Joseph

I thought that it might be nice to be able to change the background color, or even have somewhat different backgrounds or fonts for specific kinds of buttons; for example, buttons that lead to a question page might have italic text, or a somewhat different background color to make them distinct.

Stuff like that.

At any rate, I appreciate the reply.
