Opera is one.
I'm a Mac user and I have found that Safari and IE 5.2 for Mac doesn't support HTML editor.
I think HTML editor works with these:
Netscape 6 or later
Mozilla 1.1 or later
Firefox
IE 5.5 or later
HTML editor doesn't work with Opera, Safari or Konqueror.

Firefox 1.04 on WinXP works fine here. Maybe scripting is turned off or something is wrong with your firefox install?

In the options link from the tools menu, click the Web Features icon and see if javascript is turned on. If it is off, the editor won't work.
Not sure what else it could be if javascript is on and the editor doesn't work, you might look at other settings for firefox and see if changing them fixes it.
If all else fails, uninstall and re-install firefox, it certainly should work fine with the html editor unless there is some problem with your installation.
YES
